Dior

Raf Simons has really show that he is finally found his feet at the house of Dior and this pre fall collection really shows it. Although the house has not long been appointed a new head designer and the will put their twist on the brand, Raf Simons has still stayed true to what Christian Dior ascetic of the brand was.

Can we please take a moment to appreciate the shoes.

Pretty Women. Julia Roberts

Waking up to the news that Kendal Jenner is to be replaced with Julia Roberts as the new face of Givenchy for the spring summer capaign.

The Pretty women stars again and this is not a big mistake, looking elegantly beautiful showing of the work of head designer Ricardo Tisci.

I for one love what Givenchy have done and are doing.

So once again Madonna has become the face of the fashion house Versace. This will be the third time she will be the face of the famous brand, She will be replacing Lady Gaga. So her is a little look at Madonna previous campaigns and her current pictures.

Her first campaign was in 1995 and was photographed by Mario Testino.

Her second Campaign was in 2005 and was photographed also by Mario Testino

Madonna Third campaing was in 2015 and was photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

So lets wait and see if the trend continues and we see Madonna as the face of Versace again in 2025.

Chanel does Mens

Chanel Metiers d'Art show in Salzburg saw many menswear look come down the runway. This collection saw Karl Largerfeld of Chanel create 8 menswear looks for the show, which begs the question is the house of Chanel considering adding another element to the never ending list of talants and launching a menswear show.
Only time will tell, but I for one will be very happy if that is the case.

When Fashion does christmas.

It's begining to look a lot like christmas.

Claridge's Hotel in London's Mayfair opened the door to its latest designer Christman tree and for the second year fashion desigers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana of Dolce and Gabbana had the privilege of decoration the 8 metre tall tree.

This year saw the designers adorning the tree with around 300 hand made christmas decrorations that have then been hand painted to look like flags from around the world.

Surrounding the bottom of the tree is a selection of small creatures making sure the tree stays during the festive season from Deers to Rabbits.

The tree sits in the entrance of Claridges hotel and the tree fits pefectly agains the back drops of the grand stair case, and cream and gold of the lights in the room.

Something that I have always wondered is whether or not at this festive time of year do the sell decartions that a featured on the tree in the claridges shop. If I find out ill be sure to update.

A basic Life

Basics.

Basics are something that ever one has in their wardrobe but recently I am starting to feel that the so called basics of my wardrobe really need some work. My wardrobe basics have mainly consisted of plain white t-shirts, a black pull over sweatshirt and A Oxford white shirt. This has made me question what is a basic.

Some of the thing I feel need to be on the basics list,

·      A White t-shirt
·      A blue T-shirts
·      A white Shirt
·      A Grey T-shirt
·      A classic Black Trouser
·      Grey trouser
·      Checked suit Jacket
·      A classic Black bomber Jacket
·      Black Sweatshirt
·      Grey Sweatshirt
·      Navy knitted Jumper
·      Navy Chino
·      Grey Chino
·      A good fitting Indigo Jean
·      A good black Jean
·      A belt
·      A hoodie (navy, grey and black)
·      A Chelsea boot
·      A white sneaker
·      A brown Brogue

This are all the things I can Currently think off.

This are thing I feel you should have in you wardrobe to help build up a functional wardrobe all of these things can be worn as a basic styled out fit or you can through in other more fashionable piece to give a whole different look. If you have these items in your wardrobe you should have something to wear to many different occasions.

Feel free to give sugestions as to what you think should be on the list.

Second chance John

So John galliano is back in the head lines again, but this time for something a lot more positive. In 2011 galliano was dismissed from his position as the creative director of the Parisian fashion house Christian Dior. Sadly mr galliano let his thought be know about a controversial subject. Branding himself a fascist. Sadly even a man of many talents can make silly mistakes, galliano could have made his point by channelling his emotion into a collection although this would still have a shock factor, he would have been able to redeem himself with his next collection.

This has taught me a very valuable lesson in life. Things may frustrate me irritate me and upset me but there are ways of dealing with this matters.

This is a trus case of talant, and I am one of those who thought that John galliano was good for the house of Dior, it will be interesting to see what fallin brings to the table now that he has been appointed creative direction at Martin Margiela will it be a synced waist and full skirts. I for one hope not but we will have to wait and see.

I do wish John galliano all the best in his new job as I do believe that everyone should be given a second chance.

This has been written on my phone so I will checking the spelling when I get to my computer.

Mary Katrantzou

If this show is anything to go by then Spring Summer 2015 looks like it’s going to be another good year for fashion.

Katrantzou's show opens with military jackets and fitted trouser, the later part of the show sees Katrantzou doing what she does best print, this season saw the print designs being done with embroidery creating some very interesting piece.
Really good show.

Enough or not Enough #Givenchy

Givenchy, are peoples perception of the clothes much like their current collection, Basketball themed collection, your either on one side or the other. I personally love the clothes but one thing I don’t like is how much the price has risen in the past few years with a T-shirt costing anywhere from 220 to 2,000. Is this really a justified price for the product.

Another point about the collection is there are not many piece that you could carry over to future season, most of the clothes are very much that season and that season. Last thing you want is any being of that’s the Jumper from 2013. Awkward.

Givenchy seems to be one of that brands the some people buy into and really love or others that like the product, but are not prepared to pay the high price tags when it could just be a phase, but lets wait and see what the House of Givenchy is going to do next, Maybe ill change my mind and buy into it, but for now ill be staying away.
